Summer is here, and if your family is like ours, that means more picnics.
There’s something about eating on a blanket in an open grassy area that is refreshing.
My kids love to picnic in the back yard, and it is extra exciting to picnic at any park possible.
These are some of our favorite go-to picnic snacks:
-
- Cucumbers and carrots
- Micro Sunflowers
- Apple wedges with almond butter or sliced cheese
- Sliced turnips and radishes with hummus
- Crunchmaster gluten free crackers with goat cheese and micro arugula
- Power roll ups: tortilla with cream cheese and chopped power mix
- Micro Salad Mix with dried cranberries, sliced almonds, and vinaigrette
- Buffalo chickpea wraps with lettuce mix, micro radish, and ranch
- Ham and cheese sandwich with basil or sandwich lettuce
- Homemade granola or nut mix
My goal is to have wholesome foods we can eat with our fingers – as many fresh veggies and fruits as possible with protein that will sustain us.
Sometimes I’ll include a sweet treat like homemade muffins, cookies, or good quality chocolate.
(I really enjoy a good quality dark chocolate. 🙂 )
